How can I interact with my Facebook friends in TweetDeck?

In order to interact with your Facebook friends, you must first add your Facebook account to Tweetdeck and add a Facebook column.

Once you have a Facebook column, you can perform actions from every update in the column.

Hover over the profile picture on the update and you can access several functions:

FB_status_updates_button.png Comment

You can comment on any status update, just like you can on the Facebook web site. Click this button to show any existing comments and allow you to enter your own. You can also show comments by clicking the small version of this icon directly beneath the profile picture.

Recommends_button.png Like

You can "Like" any status update, just as yo ucan on the Facebook web site. Click this button once to Like and again to Unlike. You can also Like/Unlike by clicking the small version of this icon directly beneath the profile picture.

FB_wall_posts_button.png Write on wall

You can write on your friend's wall by clicking this button. this will insert a special link in the Update box, after which you can type your message.

Press Enter or click Update as normal to send the updqte to your friend's Wall

User > Send Message

This will open Facebook.com in your web browser and start a new "inbox" message to your friend

User > Wall to Wall

This will open Facebook.com in your web browser and open the Wall-to-Wall page between you and your friend

Update > Translate, Update > Untranslate

These options will translate the update to your home language, and back again into the original language

Update > Email Status

This will open a new email in your default email client with the update in the body of the message

Update > Tweet [friend]'s status update

This will copy the status update to the Update Window ready for you to send it as a tweet (prepended by "FB RT:")
