TweetDeck v0.31 is available now to download from http://www.tweetdeck.com. Here's an overview of what's new in this release:

  • New notification system - Gone is the plain old window, fixed in the top-right corner. Now TweetDeck will show a cool new notification window, with previews of the latest tweets, and the ability to take the standard actions directly from the preview. No more having to open up the screen to reply to a new tweet - now you can reply, retweet and more, all from the popup notification. Plus, you can configure the location of the popup AND set options on a column-by-column basis
  • Keyboard shortcuts - Navigate around your Tweetdeck rows and columns using the keyboard. Hit Space to open the new HUD menu and access common actions quickly without taking your fingers off the keyboard
  • New Followers column - You can now add a column to your TweetDeck that shows your most recent 100 new followers. You can follow, unfollow, block, report spam and even add to a group direct from this column
  • Many fixes, including: Missing spellcheck, "@@" problem for Linux users on Autocomplete, Posting FB status updates with links, Unable to post >140 characters, Auto-shorten URL problems with some links
For the full changelog, see below.

Love TweetDeck.

Love the new notification system.  The one limitation so far is things that are filtered in their column still appear as notifications.  I've got one very prolific tweeter that I NEED to filter to make the notifications functional.

The new notifications are extremely annoying. Thanks for the option to pare them down to just summaries. v31.3 wouldn't update on one of my computers and 30.5 never tried to automatically update (on same machine). It said the air file from v31.3 was broken. Had to totally uninstall old version and do a full setup of the new.

It's missing tweets in group columns. Please check on that, thanks.

I had real issues with the previous update that mandated the Blink 182 theme. But, I was pointed to v0.31.3 and that fixed that issue.

I have two Twitter accounts, a Facebook, and a MySpace account and everything works great except for a glitch with MySpace (when I delete the read updates in the MySpace column, they return at the next update. That doesn't happen with the Twitters or Facebook. Once cleared, those updates don't return.)

The ability to choose where specific updates go is a HUGE BONUS. There are certain target audiences for specific posts and the ability to specifically choose the target accounts save huge time and is very, very important. I don't know of another Windows app that will do that. Plus I like the non-Blink theme. It is very clean and to-the-point.

Keep up the great work (and excuse the recent Blink rant that I delivered, I was rather peeved at the time. I'm happy now!)

Please tell me:

- why have TweetDeck no UpdateCheck?

- why I can't read Settings in the Settings-Window because of Black Text on Black Background if I Change the Backgroundcolor of the TweetDeck-Window to White and The Textcolor to Black - so why the Settings-Window get the Textcolor from the Mainwindow but don't get the Backgroundcolor from the Mainwindow?
