I would LOVE this feature!  Especially the ability to update Facebook and Twitter simultaneously, without wasting three characters on hitting #fb after every message, as the current app. requires.  PLEASE!

I was very dissapointed to find no TweetDeck for Android. But then I read Richard Barley's tweet about it being in Beta or whatever and it's nearly ready. Super! Can't wait for this app. Please keep us advised.

Android is in need of a good Twitter/Facebook app.  I would love to see TweetDeck fill the void.

Yes, please. Does this this post actually get seen by TweetDeck decision makers or influencers? It's sad to see that you have an iPad app instantly while letting Android users lag behind.

@Alex Costa. Tht's due to the fact that iPhone and iPad use more or less the sme technology. TI's just a bigger screen.

Yeah I realise that.. the point is the time in between the two devices... nothing happened for Android users!  I have nothing agains't the iPhone or iPad just the lack of Android support annoys me. Steve Jobs is telling the world when to jump and people jump, that's what annoys me.

There are more Android users than there are iPhone users.  Yet so many people think "everyone" has the Apple model (good marketing on Apple's part).  PLEASE, there are many Android users who will use this app.  Don't ignore the Android platform.

Well.. I just noticed that Adobe is developing AIR for Android, which'd imply that TweetDeck will come to the device as well.

But right now, I'm looking at it built using the Android SDK. That way, it'd be like Tweetie for the iPhone [looks slick].

I am neither an Android user, or an iPhone user nor am I a BlackBerry ir Windows Mobile User. I use a 2nd Gen Motorola SLVR L9 phone, so only java Apps work. But I'm just frustrated about the fact that EVERYTHING out there exists for an Apple device BUT not other platforms. :(

Do some of you not actually read the comments thread before adding your 2 cents? Tweetdeck already confirmed for Android, and they're beta testing it right now. Patience people... ;)

If you read that, you'd've understood.

P.S: If you read the two posts above yours you would have understood.

It's good to continue to show support to this topic, Beta is good a sign of progress but not assurance of delivery.

This is great news. Hope you guys don't take all the strong opinions here as an insult to your work. TweetDeck is great, and will look greater on Android haha. 

I love tweetdeck there is no decent android twitter app available. BIG disappointment coming from the iPhone. I don't mean to be offensive but neither do i like the response above: "It will be ready when it is ready." Makes you feel as if they are brushing tweetdeck fans off. In working for software companies if many capacities including support if I had said that to a customer i most likely would have been fired that day. If it really is that big of a problem then charge for it, most of the folks here like it enough they would pay for it. Again sorry don't want to be offensive, i love the app.

Just adding my voice to the chorus. I love Tweetdeck, and hate Twidroid, which I'm currently stuck with on my MyTouch. Result: I only check twitter when my laptop and a wifi network are handy. I miss a lot that way...

I have to confer here.  One feature that I would *LOVE* to see is filtering of notifications based on the lists or, even better, per user notifications.  For example, only people in group/list a do notifications.  Or Person A, B, an D I get notifications for but not person C.

rather than complaining that we dont have it yet, i would like to ask a genuine question. what version of android will tweetdeck be aimed at? will tweetdeck support 1.6?

I would like a TweetDeck App.  I just got a LG Ally with Android and it would be amazing if you'd create an app, hopefully free. I have the latest Android system but it would be great if there was a few TweetDeck apps to work for everyone.  This is a great product on my desktop and I have recommended it to friends who love it as well, but having it for Android would be amazing.!

tweetdeck used to be cutting edge, they had the usability.... but the fact they have made android users wait for almost a year for the tweetdeck app is really inexcusable.  They want to be king of the mountain.  If that's so, they need to get off their ass and get an android and web app up and running.  All they're going to do is lose android users to someone else who decided to actually try to make something for them, instead of throwing all their eggs in the iphone basket.

Funnily enough, we are actually, for the moment at least, putting all our eggs in the Android basket. That's why we are taking so long over getting our Android app ready. The work that we put into Android is going to feed into a new breed of TweetDeck clients across the board and so we need to ensure that we have everything in place both in the client and the backend to support it.

We appreciate that many Android users have been waiting a long time for it and we're sorry if you feel that we are letting you down. But in reality we want to make sure that you get an exciting new client that doesnt just look like every other Android client out there, that pushes your expectations of what an app should do.

We could have pushed out a quick and easy app and slapped a TweetDeck badge on it, just to get into the market, but that's not what we're about at all. So again, I'm sorry if this is taking longer than you hoped, but the wait will be worth it in the end, I promise you...

I am waiting, and I understand that you want us to satisfied rather then sorry, but until it's ready for prime time I'd like to join in the chorus of Android users who are saying - We Can't Wait! But I will - Thanks!
